This year for daily journaling, I used both a 3-year Midori, a Hibino. I made the covers for them, and it was a fun process.
To be honest, I think I still prefer Hobonichi's 5-year, and I seriously considered going back to it for next year. But I think the issue was not so much the journal itself but how I was using it. The 3-year was for shorter versions of whatever I was writing in the Hibino, so I think next year I'll save it for end of the day journaling, and I'll keep the Hibino out during the day. I did something similar in 2020 and I think I'd like to go back to it.
Lately, my go-to pen has been a lavender fine Nagasawa using a purple shimmer ink!
